Launched in July 2003, the MHS Alliance Purchsasing Serviceds is a collaborative effort between MHS Alliance, the Association of Brethren Caregivers and Friends Services for the Aging. Launched in January 2004, the Peace Church Risk Retention Group (PCRRG) is a joint venture among participating senior service members of MHS Alliance, the Association of Brethren Caregivers and Friends Services for the Aging.
This self-funded and self-governed insurance company offers its approximately 40 members relief from volatile general and professional liability insurance costs through greater management of risk. In addition, premiums are based on participant experience rather than that of a national pool of senior service providers.

MHS Alliance sponsors the Medical Expense Program, a self-funded employee health benefits program developed in the mid-1980s by members of MHS Alliance (predecessor of MHS Alliance.) The Medical Expense Program gives organizations a measure of control over an unpredictable budget item.
The Medical Expense Program's success is founded on basic operating principles of trust and accountability among plan members, consensus in most decision-making, and careful risk management, including screening criteria and adequate reserves.
